The College Baseball Blog made the trip on Saturday to Cambridge to see the Harvard Crimson take on the Dartmouth Big Green in the final Ivy League home games for the Crimson on the year. The Big Green entered the weekend with a magic number of three to clinch the Red Rolfe Division with the Yale Bulldogs in second place.

In Game 1, Dartmouth got a solid start from Russell Young as he went seven strong innings while giving up three earned runs on six hits and two walks as the Big Green picked up a 7-3 victory. The Dartmouth offense was led by Nick Santomauro hit a two run triple in the sixth inning which gave the Big Green some more insurance runs as they cruised to the victory in Game 1.

In Game 2, Dartmouth got a two run homer in the first inning from Nick Santomauro in the first inning to jump out to the quick 2-0 lead on the Crimson. They would pick up two more runs with single runs coming in the third on a Michael Pagliarullo single and another run coming in the fourth on a single by Jon Santopadre. The Crimson were trailing 4-0 heading into the bottom of the fifth inning when they loaded the bases with back to back singles by Tyler Albright and Jeff Stoeckel with a walk to Matt Vance to load the bases. Dillion O’Neill hit a towering drive to deep left which was pulled in by Dartmouth left fielder Jason Blydell who crashed into the bushes to pull back the homer and keep the game at 4-0. Dartmouth would extend the lead to 5-0 before going to the bottom of the eighth when the Crimson scored four runs with the big blow being a three run homer from Tyler Albright to make the game 5-4 heading into the ninth. Dartmouth was held scoreless in the top of the ninth to set up a dramatic bottom of the ninth inning. The first two Harvard batters got out and Matt Kramer picked up a two strike hit to right field. Matt Rogers followed up with a long drive to left field that appeared to be gone off the bat but the Dartmouth left fielder caught the ball against the wall to clinch the Red Rolfe Division title for the Big Green with Yale being swept by the Brown Bears on Saturday.
