ORLANDO, FL – APRIL 18TH, 2008 – The University of Central Florida (UCF) Knights are going after the top team in their conference, and one of the top teams in the nation. They’ll have three chances to knock the Rice Owls off their perch atop the Conference USA standings and they’ll be swinging DeMarini bats to do so.

This is UCF’s first season after signing with DeMarini, and Head Coach Jay Bergman says it’s already making a difference at the plate.

“The DeMarini bats are great,” says Bergman. “Our guys are having a great offensive season. All you have to do is compare stats from 2007 with this season to see the effect it’s having on our game.”

The team is just one win away from tying the number of games they won last year – and they still have 14 more games left in the regular season.

Fans can feel the power of a DeMarini bat for themselves just by showing up early for the games. The DeMarini Experience will be open for two hours prior to game time at each game of the series. Fans can Join the Uprising at Jay Bergman Field on the UCF Campus at the following times:

April 25th – 4:30 PM (game time 6:30 PM)
April 26th – 4:30 PM (game time 6:30 PM)
April 27th – 11:00 AM (game time 1:00 PM)

Fans of all ages will get their chance to test drive the same bats that more than 140 college teams count on for that winning edge. And if they like what they see, they can take one home that night from a special on-site pro shop stocked with the latest and greatest gear from Wilson and DeMarini. They can also register to win a Wilson A2000 glove, the Official Ball Glove of Major League Baseball, made from hand-matched Pro-Stock™ leather for unmatched feel, durability and performance. It’s the best selling baseball glove in history, and the choice of Major League players since 1957. There’s a glove giveaway at every game, along with loads of other great prizes.

Established in 1989, DeMarini Sports took the bat industry by storm with the world’s first high-tech softball bat. Acquired by Wilson Sporting Goods in 2000, DeMarini continues to research, design and build high-performance softball and baseball bats in its state-of-the-art Hillsboro, Oregon facility.
