Florida State 10 North Florida 2

Tallahassee, Fla. – Second-ranked Florida State (33-3) won its tenth straight game with a 10-2 victory over North Florida (21-17) Wednesday night on Mike Martin Field inside Dick Howser Stadium. The Seminoles scored five runs in the bottom of the first and never looked back to remain undefeated all-time against the Ospreys in just their third season at the Division I level.

“I am just very proud of the way our guys approached the game,” said head coach Mike Martin. “We are talking about a team that has played Florida very tough in three games. They beat a very good UCF team five times in a row. They have a club that is very experienced even though they have a lot of sophomores.”

North Carolina 5 Charlotte 4 (12 innings)

CARY, N.C. – Left fielder Kyle Shelton followed a two-run, game-tying rally in the 11th inning with an RBI fielder’s choice in the 12th to lift No. 4 North Carolina to a 5-4 comeback win over Charlotte Wednesday at Cary’s USA Baseball National Training Complex. South Carolina 6 Clemson 0

Clemson, S.C. – Senior right-hander Nick Godwin hurled 7.2 scoreless innings and back-to-back home runs from freshmen Justin Hopper and Scott Wingo highlighted a five-run fourth inning as South Carolina (27-10) defeated Clemson (18-19) 6-0 on Wednesday evening at Doug Kingsmore Stadium. NC State 11 Radford 2

RALEIGH, N.C. – When a team is playing well and in the heart of its schedule, an unheralded midweek opponent can be a dangerous game. Radford could have posed just such a danger for NC State on Wednesday, but the Wolfpack came out swinging and downed the Highlanders 11-2 at Doak Field at Dail Park.

The win was NC State’s fourth in a row and its 11th in its last 13 games. The Pack improved to 25-11 on the season. Radford lost its 10th game in a row and fell to 15-20.

“When you’re coming off an emotional win like we had last night against East Carolina and you have a big conference weekend game coming up, a game like this can be a trap game,” Wolfpack head coach Elliott Avent said. “I was really pleased that we came out and played loose and played well. We knew it was important to score early, and we did.”
