The Texas State Bobcats sent four runs across the plate in the bottom of the ninth inning the appeared to be enough for a success over Texas A&M-Corpus Christi, but a two-run eighth gave the Islanders a chance to catch up but the effort was stopped short and the `Cats held on for a 5-3 win over the foe at Bobcat Field Saturday afternoon. Steven Siers broke the even tally for a 2-1 record after a seven-inning stint on the mound, allowing just one run to plate and matching a season-high eight strikeouts.
