George Mason 5 Towson 4

Towson, Md. – The George Mason baseball team snapped a four-game losing streak on Sunday afternoon when the Patriots scored five runs in the first three innings and then held off Towson over the final six as Mason beat the Tigers, 5-4.

Mason scored in the first when Chris Henderson and Justin Bour hit two-out singles and Scott Krieger brought home Henderson with a single to left. Towson tied the game in the bottom of the inning behind a walk and a double. Mason took the lead for good in the second behind the game’s lone error.

Northeastern 3 UNC-Wilmington 3 (12 innings, Travel Curfew)

WILMINGTON, N.C. – Northeastern plated two runs in the ninth to draw even as the Huskies and 19th-ranked UNC Wilmington battled to a 3-all tie in Colonial Athletic Association baseball action at a frigid Friedman Diamond on Sunday. The game was halted after 11 innings due to travel plans for the Seahawks.

The Seahawks moved to 23-6-1 overall and 13-1-1 in the league. NU, meanwhile, ran its record to 11-12-1 and 4-7-1 in the circuit.

The Seahawks wasted a solid outing by senior starter Jeff Hatcher, who fanned seven and allowed two runs on seven hits in seven innings of work.

Game 1: William and Mary 3 Georgia State 2
Game 2: Georgia State 6 William and Mary 3

ATLANTA-Marc Mimeault’s three-run, walk-off home run lifted Georgia State to a 6-3 victory over William and Mary and a split of Sunday’s Colonial Athletic Association doubleheader at The Field at Panthersville. The Tribe took game one, 3-2.

William and Mary (20-11, 10-7 CAA) scored two runs in the eighth to tie game two at 3-all, and then Mimeault responded with his game-winning blast with no outs in the bottom of the ninth. Chase Childers, who hit a solo home run in the fourth inning and led Georgia State (18-11, 7-7 CAA) with four hits on the day, led off the ninth with a single, and then Bradley Logan bunted for a base hit to put runners at first and second with no outs.
