Ohmed Danesh drove in the winning run with 2 outs in the bottom of the 9th to lead the Seminoles to an 8-7 victory over the Yellow Jackets. First baseman Dennis Guinn added 3 hits for Florida State, reaching first on all 5 plate appearances.
Closer Chris Hicks took the loss for the Yellow Jackets. Geoff Parker earned the victory for the Seminoles.
The two teams face off again 6:00pm Saturday at Dick Howser Stadium, with Georgia Tech RHP Eddie Burns (2-0, 1.53 ERA) facing Florida State LHP Matt Fairel (3-0, 0.95 ERA).
