Tulane 5 TCU 3

MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. – Junior centerfielder Aja Barto hammered a solo home run and junior closer Mason Griffin retired all four batters he faced as the Tulane University baseball team defeated TCU, 5-3, in day three of the Dairy Queen Baseball Classic Sunday at the Hubert H. Humphrey Metrodome.

Trailing 3-2 after six and a half innings, junior right fielder Drew Allain tied the score with a two-out RBI triple in the bottom of the seventh. One inning later, Barto turned on a 1-1 offering from Horned Frogs (3-4) reliever Paul Gerrish and sent it into the seats beyond the wall in right center to give the Wave (6-2) a lead they would not relinquish.
