The College Baseball Blog and StatStud.com have teamed up this season to bring a weekly award for the top players in the last week. We will select one pitcher and hitter every week throughout the regular season. Bobby Verbick of Sam Houston State is our choice for hitter of the week after a monster series against LA-Monroe and Michael Rocha of Oklahoma has picked up the Pitcher of the Week honor from us.

Bobby Verbick of Sam Houston State had a monster week where he batted .545 with three home runs, eight RBI, and four runs scored in a three game set against Louisiana-Monroe. This season Verbick is batting .481 which is second best on his team with six homers on the season after being named to several All-American teams last year.

Michael Rocha of Oklahoma pitched eight innings while only allowing two hits against Tennessee during a 2-0 victory in the Houston College Classic. He struck out seven batters without walking a single hitter. He has a season record of 1-0 in three appearances including two starts with a 1.29 ERA.
