FORT WORTH, Texas (Feb. 26, 2008) – A pair of three-run innings and outstanding pitching led the TCU Horned Frogs to a 6-1 victory over Dallas Baptist Tuesday night at Lupton Stadium. The Frogs put up three in the first inning and never looked back as the trio of Paul Gerrish, Trent Appleby and Sean Hoelscher held the Patriot bats in check. Bryan Kervin and Matt Carpenter each drove in two for TCU.
Ben Carruthers took a Victor Black offering off the left side with one out in the first to start the rally. Matt Vern followed with a walk and Hunt Woodruff drew a two-out walk to load the bases.

Kentucky 15 Oakland 5
LEXINGTON, Ky. — Freshman shortstop Chris Wade’s two-run home run – the first of his career – highlighted a nine-run sixth inning, as the No. 17 Kentucky baseball team overcame a sluggish start to posted a 15-5 win, on Tuesday afternoon at Cliff Hagan Stadium.
Kentucky (4-0) got solid performances from several fresh faces along with Wade, including sophomore outfielder Troy Frazier, who finished the day 3-for-3, with two doubles and five RBI. Wade finished 2-for-4 with two runs and two RBI, adding a double. Leadoff man Keenan Wiley posted a 2-for-3 day, including two runs and two RBI, drawing a walk and getting hit by two pitches. Preseason All-American Collin Cowgill scored a team-high three runs, driving in a run, drawing a walk and getting plunked by a pitch.
The Wildcats started sophomore right-hander Tyler Henry, a top-50 freshman a year ago, as ranked by Baseball America. Henry worked five innings, striking out six and allowing five runs. Senior southpaw Tommy Warner picked up the win, tossing three scoreless innings, allowing just one hit and striking out two. Tyler Howe, UK’s everyday catcher, closed out the contest on the mound, working one hitless inning.
College of Charleston 13 Coastal Carolina 12
Cole Rakar’s one-out, single in the bottom of the 11th inning drove in Gabe Marchant for the game-winner as the College of Charleston baseball team defeated #26 Coastal Carolina, 13-12, before 338 fans at Patriots Point Stadium in Mt. Pleasant, S.C., on Tuesday.
Charleston, which improved to 4-0, plays host to #13 Clemson in a 5:00 start on Friday. Coastal Carolina drops its first game of the season and goes to 4-1.

Elon 7 UNC-Wilmington 4
WILMINGTON, N.C. – After rain delayed the start of the game by two hours, the Elon Phoenix picked up a 7-4 non-conference baseball victory over the UNC Wilmington Seahawks thanks to homer runs from Cory Harrilchak and Donny Jobe on Tuesday night. With the victory, Elon improved to 5-0 for the first time since the 2005 season and just the second time since moving to the NCAA Division I level for the 2000 season. UNCW dropped to 1-3.
After the first two hitters of the game were retired, Elon’s Pat Irvine reached on an error by the Seahawk second baseman. Irvine advanced to third on a failed pick-off attempt before Bennett Davis and Dallas Tarleton drew back-to-back walks to load the bases. The Phoenix failed to score however, as Mike Lobacz was struck out on a 2-2 pitch from Justin Bradley.

HARRISONBURG, Va.—The Highlanders traveled to James Madison and in between the rain drops took on the Dukes in a non conference match up. Radford would explode for four runs in both the sixth and eight innings to defeat the Dukes 9-5 in the 1,000th game in Radford baseball history.
Radford (3-1) got the scoring going in the third inning when Tyren Rivers (Suffolk, Va.) lifted a sacrifice fly to center field to score Nachion Moore (Chesapeake, Va.),(pictured) who had led off the inning with a single to right. The Highlanders would then load the bases with two outs but were unable to push any more runs across.
