Tim Kearney pitched a perfect scoreless inning in relief of Maryland starter Brett Curll to pick up his first career victory with a 9-0 shutout over UMBC. The Terps were led by Mike Murphy, Steve Braun, and Wink Nolan who each went 2-3 in the victory. UMBC’s leading hitter was Scott Peddicord who went a perfect 3 for 3 at the plate. Maryland returns to action on Wednesday when they head to Towson for a non-conference match-up while UMBC is off until Friday when they host Hartford.
