Hawaii-Hilo has continued their horrible start by heading to 0-7 on the season after getting swept in a doubleheader by the Kansas Jayhawks by scores of 12-0 and 7-2. Freshman pitcher Wally Marciel made his collegiate debut in the nightcap for the Jayhawks and pitched five innings giving up two runs. Marciel is from Kailua, Hawaii so this was a homecoming for him. Casey Larson was the star on offense by picking up 3 hits and driving in two.

In Game 1, Senior Kyle Murphy led the Jayhawk offense by going 2-3 with 4 RBI. Nick Czyz pitched 4.1 innings to earn the victory in the mercy ruled shortened game.
